Sony Xperia Z goes on preorder for £522 with free wireless speakers

The Sony Xperia Z smartphone is an expensive device but it offers a lot for the money. Clove Technoology has put it on preorder for £522 (unlocked and SIM Free) which is roughly the same as the iPhone 5.

It comes with a free pair of wireless speakers, the Sony SRS-BTV5, which carry a suggested retail price of £65. Note that the smartphone is expected to land on 1 March 2013.

It is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro system-on-chip clocked at 1.5GHz, 2GB of RAM, 16GB onboard storage with a microSD card slot, a 13-megapixel camera with Exmor RS and HDR video capture capabilities, a front facing 2.2-megapixel camera plus 4G capabilities thanks to the MDM9215M modem.

In addition, the smartphone – which uses a glass fibre polyamide frame - offers a 5in 1,920 x 1,080 pixel Reality Display with Mobile Bravia Engine 2, a resolution that allows the Xperia Z to come up with one of the highest pixel densities on the market.

Other noteworthy features include a dust and water resistant (IP55 and IP57), Playstation Certification, a useful Battery Stamina Mode that temporarily extends your battery life, Sony Entertainment Network, a burst mode that allows up to 10 frames to be taken per second.
