It's no secret that smartphone enthusiasts are ogling the Sony Xperia Z with all the wide-eyed wonder of 12-year-old boys peeking into the girls' locker room.
The Japanese firm's new flagship mobile has been an instant hit since launching back at CES 2013, and there's cause for merriment today after online retail giant Amazon officially listed the handset for pre-order - confirming a great deal of Xperia Z release date rumours in the process.
Though clearly at the dearer end of the market, Sony's Xperia Z sports a raft of impressive features to justify its pricing, not least its Full HD (1,920 x 1,080 pixels) display, and robust dust and water resistant nature.
The Xperia Z also packs a quad-core Snapdragon S4 processor clocked at 1.5GHz, 2GB of RAM, and a 13.1-megapixel camera. Its powerful specifications don't come at the expense of aesthetics, with the device measuring a svelte 7.9mm in girth and weighing up at just 146g.
