Samsung Galaxy Fame to arrive on Three in March

When Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Fame at the beginning of February, it was widely speculated that the new youth-oriented handset would begin its descent into European markets after strutting its stuff on the MWC catwalk later this month.

Those predictions look increasingly likely to be realised, after network provider Three announced that the budget mobile will be added to its smartphone lineup "soon."

"The Samsung Galaxy Fame is a welcome addition to Three. Complemented by our award-winning network, browsing the Internet, using apps like YouTube or sharing music, photos and videos on the go, this innovative smartphone fits your needs perfectly," commented Sylvia Chind, head of devices at Three.

Specifics of the Galaxy Fame's UK arrival are still sketchy, with more details expected to become available at MWC. Samsung has confirmed that the handset - which may be available in a dual-SIM model - will go on sale in March.

The Galaxy Fame sports a 3.5in HVGA display with a resolution of 480 x 320 pixels, and features a 5-megapixel rear snapper and VGA-standard secondary shooter. It offers 4GB of on-board storage expandable via a microSD card slot, and packs 512MB of memory under the hood.

Lined up to ship with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, the Fame weighs an untaxing 120.6g but measures a relatively plump 11.6mm in girth. Its basic processor is clocked at 1GHz and there is a 1,300mAh battery powering the show.
