Fujitsu has announced a new partnership with Orange Telecom under which the company will roll out its Stylistic S01 handset this June on the French carrier.
The new handset, which has been designed almost exclusively for the elderly, will run Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, which Fujitsu is making more accessible and easier to use. It will feature a new user interface whose large buttons give a tactile feedback similar to pressing keys on a non-touchscreen phone. To make it more senior-friendly, Fujitsu also included a loud personal security alarm in the device that can be used to alert nearby people in the event of an emergency situation.
The Stylistic S901 will come equipped with HSPA and GSM connectivity through Orange. The device will be powered by a Qualcomm MSM8255 processor clocked at 1.4GHz, and will include 4GB of internal storage alongside. While it boasts an impressive 8.1-megapixel rear camera, there is secondary front-facing camera that allows users to make video call.
Neither Orange nor Fujitsu has given any clues about the price tag on the Stylistic S01, but it is likely that more details will surface about the device during Mobile World Congress in Barcelona next week.
