MWC 2013: Asus Padfone Infinity hands-on pictures

We spent a few minutes with the Asus Padfone Infinity, unofficially known as Padfone 3, which the firm announced earlier today at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. This device blurs the line between smartphones and tablets since it is essentially a smartphone that slots into a dumb terminal which happens to be a tablet.

First impressions of the smartphone itself are excellent. Its brushed metal finish and unibody frame are now commonplace at the higher end of the spectrum but it is still nice to see that Asus is now on par with the other big boys with quad-core SoCs and full HD displays.

Check out our report on the launch of the Asus Padfone Infinity and the Padfone. It’s also worth noting that five years ago, Asus and Intel partnered on an idea crowdsourcing project called Wepc.com that attracted hundreds of ideas. Myself and many other tech editors (like Anand from Anandtech) collaborated on it. It appears now that Asus is finally putting some of them – like the Padfone – in practice.
