Amazon is selling the Samsung Series 5 NP530U4C Ultrabook for a mere £450, that’s a 44 per cent discount off its suggested retail price.
That Ultrabook joins the growing ranks of sub-£500 models, something that became a trend after the launch of Ivy-Bridge last year.
The NP530U4C runs on a dual-core Intel Core i5-3317UM processor clocked at 1.7GHz with 6GB of RAM, a 500GB hard disk drive, a DVD writer (surprising on an Ultrabook), LAN and Wireless LAN, Bluetooth, a webcam, Intel HD Graphics 4000, Windows 7 Home Premium, a 14in display with a “SuperBright screen with Image Enhancer technology and 50 per cent more brightness“ plus a 1,366 x 768 pixel resolution, HDMI, VGA and up to seven hours battery life.
This Ultrabook weighs only 1.81Kg and is a mere 21mm thick. Like other Ultrabooks, it sports a near-instant power-on feature that allows it to resume from sleep in two seconds.
Samsung says that the Series 5 Ultra brings together “professional style and durability” and that its “sophisticated exterior” is made up of aluminium and fiber glass. Check out our review of the Series 5 NP535U3C, a slightly different model.
