PC World is selling the Disgo Busbi 7in tablet for only £64.60. To get this price you have to buy the tablet online and use the code PCWX5 at check out to get a 5 per cent discount. Otherwise, the instore price will be £80.
Although you can get cheaper entry level tablets, what makes this deal more enticing is the fact that you get a free three months Times digital subscription (which by the way is the case when you buy any tablet or iPad from PC World). The effective price of the tablet is therefore £9.60.
The tablet itself is a decent model. It runs on a single-core Cortex-A8 SoC clocked at 1GHz with 512MB of RAM, 4GB onboard storage, a 7in 800 x 480 pixel display, a microSD card slot, a microUSB port, Wi-Fi, a front facing camera and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
The 2800mAh battery will be able to power the tablet for up to three hours.
Note that you will have access to Google Play as well as a selection of Busbi applications. We suggest that you buy a 32GB or 64GB microSD card to make the most out of it as a media player.
Unfortunately, the SoC is unlikely to be powerful enough to drive resource-intensive applications like games.
