£550 Lenovo IdeaPad Y570 laptop: a very powerful laptop for not a lot of money

It’s difficult to fault the Lenovo Ideapad Y570 laptop given the stunning value for money this laptop provides. At £550 (down from £800) at Saveonlaptops, we have yet to find a better deal as we post it.

For that outlay, you get a Core i7-2670QM (quad-core based on Sandy Bridge, clocked at 2.2GHz with a 3.1GHz Turbo Boost and 6MB L3 cache), 4GB of RAM, a 15.6in 1,366 x 768 pixel display, Windows 7 Home premium OS, a 64GB system drive and a 1TB hard disk drive, a Blu-ray reader, a dedicated Nvidia Geforce GT 555M GPU with 1GB memory, Wi-Fi, GbE connectivity, three USB ports (including two USB 3.0 models), Integrated JBL Sound System with Dolby Home Theater V4, VGA, HDMI, eSATA, Bluetooth 2.1, a year warranty and up to four hour battery life

If there’s something that the Y570 could improve on, it would have been the amount of memory and the screen resolution. But then again, it is unlikely that you’d get these for under £550.

Note that you can extend the warranty on that laptop to three years for a mere £49.97 and that you get a license of WebRoot antivirus and BullGuard Internet Security for free.
