Online retailer 123AV is selling the Toshiba 55ZL2B television set for £3,495 excluding delivery. This is the cheapest Quad HD television in the UK and comes with glasses-free 3D capabilities as well. The latter uses viewer position tracking.
The television was launched in July last year with a price tag nearer to £10,000 (it was on sale for £7,000 in October). 123 says that it is a refurbished set but comes with three-year warranty included.
It has a 3,840 x 2,160 resolution (hence the term quad HD), which provides with a resolution of more than eight megapixels, on a 55in diagonal. Other features include Wi-Fi, Freeview HD, a multi-core processing unit called CEVO that upscales content, a 400Hz refresh rate and a 9m:1 contrast ratio.
The 55ZL2B can record to an external USB hard disk drive (although we’re not sure whether you can shove in a hard drive bigger than 2TB). As for connectivity, you have two USB ports, four HDMI, two SCART and PC-input.
Toshiba has also bundled the AMR800 picture processing technology as well as its own “Places” online media portal with this exceptional television set.
