A report published by technology website OLED-display contains details of what looks to be the specification of the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini, specs that were obtained from industry and company data as well as the Korean Investment & Securities.
These underline the use of the Samsung Exynos 5120 SoC in the smaller version of the Galaxy S4 – which is . That chipset is a dual-core model not unlike the one powering the Google Nexus 10, is clocked at 1.6GHz and represents a massive jump from the ST Novathor U8420 SoC used in the S3 Mini. The latter is a Cortex-A9 part while the 5120 is a Cortex-A15 one.
Other purported features include a 4.3in Super AMOLED display with a 960 x 540 pixel display, 1GB of RAM for the 3G version and 2GB for the LTE one version, a 2,100mAh battery (a massive boost from the 1,500mAh one found on the S3 Mini), an 8-megapixel camera and 32GB onboard storage with a microSD card slot.
Oddly enough, the OLED-display claims that the S4 Mini will run on Android 4.0 rather than Android 4.1/4.2 Jelly Bean. All in all it seems that the S4 Mini will be slotted between the Galaxy S3 and the Galaxy S2.
