Design contest specialist 99designs has launched a new competition aimed at finding a definitive image to represent the creative spirit of London's Silicon Roundabout.

At the time of writing, the community contest had witnessed nearly 300 entries from more than 70 designers. Submissions are being accepted until 21 June, with a winner set to be announced next week.

"The Silicon Roundabout contest is a chance for our community of designers to show how they can capture the energy and vibe from the UK's leading tech environment. The quality of designs has shown originality and talent and the results are truly outstanding, commented 99designs' Samantha Graves.

The winning design will feature on a T-shirt manufactured by Icon Printing as well as taking home a £500 prize.

"What we really want from our designers, is to embrace the feeling of East London and incorporate it into one image that represents the growth, culture and vibe of the next big tech startup," Graves added in a blog post.

She continued: "We want to capture the vibrancy and creativity in the area, whilst keeping it based around the Silicon Roundabout slogan, 'Proud to Startup at Silicon Roundabout.'"
