Apple iPhone 5 16GB smartphone now available from £36 on 18-month contracts

Some customers prefer shorter contracts because it allows them to upgrade quicker rather than wait for another six months. Orange has a couple of affordable Apple iPhone 5 contracts without any upfront fees via Dialaphone.

Both the iPhone 36 and the iPhone 36 Extra cost £36 and offer 500 texts. However they differ when it comes to minutes and data; 600 minutes and 500MB data for the former, 300 minutes and 1GB data for the latter. In both cases, the total cost of ownership stands at £648 which is one of the cheapest around and only £119 more than the cost of the phone itself.

The iPhone 5 comes with a 4in Retina Display, an Apple A6 chip, an 8-megapixel iSight camera with panorama, Siri voice-controlled assistant, FaceTime, EarPods earphones, full HD video recording, Wi-Fi, iOS6 (soon to be upgraded to iOS 7) and measures a mere 7.6mm thin.

Apple is expected to launch an iPhone 6 smartphone (or maybe an iPhone 5S) in the second half of the year to catch up with the Android competition led by Samsung. Check out our review of the Apple iPhone 5 smartphone here.
