Phones4U became the first retailer in the UK to confirm that it will stock the just-announced Samsung Galaxy Note 3 smartphone. The hacks at the company were so keen to push the press release out that they forgot to get the link to work (goes to a “you’ve found a broken link” page) and included the price of the Samsung Galaxy Gear, something that might not have been agreed with Samsung prior.
Since the Galaxy Note 3 and the Galaxy Gear are supposed to go hand in hand, it is not a surprise that Phones4U will give £100 off the new Galaxy Gear smartwatch to entice users to grab both of them in one go. Those who preorder on a 4G tariff in September will also get a free wireless speaker worth £120 plus a flip case worth £40.
The phone will be available from £47 per month on a two-year contract; that’s a total cost of ownership of £1,128. Three and EE also confirmed that they will be stocking Samsung’s newest top of the range smartphone. Orange and T-Mobile customers will also be able to buy it, either in black or in white.
EE customers will pay £41 per month with an upfront fee of £150 for 2GB of data and unlimited minutes and texts. Orange customers will pay £42 per month with an upfront fee of £120 while T-mobile ones will have a similar monthly outlay but curiously enough, a higher upfront fee.
