Deal: £247 Advent Monza V100 laptop with 6GB of RAM

PC World is selling the Advent Monza V100 laptop on its eBay outlet for £247 with 247 Nectar points and free delivery. This is the cheapest laptop we've seen on the market with that amount of memory and although it is a refurbished model, we have no qualms recommending it.

It runs on an Intel Celeron 847, a dual-core part clocked at 1.1GHz with 1MB of cache. There's also 6GB onboard storage, a 320GB hard disk drive, Windows 8, a 15.6in display with a 1,366 x 768 pixel resolution and powered by Intel HD Graphics (with up to 1.7GB memory allocated to it).

Other features include Gigabit Ethernet, Wi-Fi, three USB ports, VGA and HDMI connectors, a DVD writer, a multi-gesture touchpad, a card reader, a webcam, a 4-cell battery that can power the device for up to three hours and a dedicated numeric keypad.

Note that this is a laptop with a glossy red finish which may not appeal to some. It is a whopping 35mm thick and weighs a not-so-insignificant 2.8Kg.
