Hailo and SwiftKey took home two gongs each at The Appsters, an awards ceremony that represented one of the highlights of the recent Apps World 2013 conference in London.
The second annual Appsters acknowledged the best performing apps in a number of categories and took place at the glamorous Kensington Roof Gardens in W8.
SwiftKey was one of the night’s big winners, as it took home the prestigious Appsters Champion award, which is chosen from all of those shortlisted. It also nabbed the prize in the Best Consumer App category. SwiftKey carried on its success from 2012, which saw its SwiftKey Healthcare solution awarded the Best Enterprise App award.
Another that enjoyed a fruitful evening was Hailo, whose ‘taxi magnet’ app was voted Most Innovative, and the company as a whole was recognised as having the Best Payment Solution.
It was also a big night for Bristol-based Mubaloo, as it won the App Developer award for the second year in succession and crowned off a year in which it became EE’s official custom mobile app partner.
“I am so proud of what we have achieved in the last four and a half years. Mubaloo works with some of the world’s largest organisations to enable them to increase their market position by investing in mobile apps,” Mark Mason, CEO and founder of Mubaloo, stated after receiving the award.
He added: “Our team know how to make the best apps on the market.”
Comedian Simon Evans hosted the night and other companies that were recognised for efforts in 2013 included video chat company ooVoo taking the Best App Technology Award and Best Enterprise App going to iPresent.
