Apple's new iPad mini with Retina display only just went on sale, yet the coveted gadget and its full form factor sibling, the iPad Air, are both apparently on the brink of a Black Friday deals bonanza.
In a preview of its Black Friday sale, US retail behemoth Target has revealed that it will be offering a free $75 (£47) gift card to buyers of "any iPad mini" at select locations, while nabbing the super svelte iPad Air will net you a $100 (£63) voucher.
Walmart, for its part, is offering a one hour Thanksgiving Day (28 November) special, with shoppers who arrive at stores 18:00 local time having the opportunity to get an iPad mini and a $100 gift card.
For many, the coupons will be as good as a straight up price slash, though quantities are likely to be limited and demand will no doubt be high.
The offers are currently US-only - where Black Friday and its online partner, Cyber Monday, are de facto national holidays - though the pre-Christmas sales tradition is becoming increasingly prevalent in the UK, so the deals may be a good indicator of what to expect here in Blighty.
Traditionally, Apple has also offered discounts on some of its products around this time, so bargain hunters will definitely want to keep an eye on the tech giant's online store.
