Hang w/ 2.0 launches with Facebook live streaming

Hang w/ 2.0 for iOS has just been released with live streaming to Facebook now included within the popular app.

The new social media integration allows users to stream video to their own Facebook wall with the videos able to be viewed and then shared by friends from mobile devices as well as computers.

“The mobile social market is growing rapidly,” said Andrew Maltin, CEO of MEDL Mobile, the developer of Hang w/. “Live streaming represents an entirely new category and we have our eyes set on being the category innovator and the market leader. Hang w/ 2.0 is our second major step in that direction.”

The Hang w/ app allows users to connect through live streaming video and chat, with video and audio being improved as part of the Hang w/ 2.0 update as well as three, six and nine minute broadcasting options being added.

“We intend to really push the limits of what’s possible with our streaming technology,” Maltin added. “By releasing stream to Facebook, along with longer broadcasts, we’ve made it easier for our users to capture and share live moments outside of Hang w/ - and we’ve made it easier for those moments to go viral.”

Facebook isn’t the only social network to benefit from improved integration with #hashtags introduced to allow custom content channels and better links with Twitter. The developers have also implemented an extensive set of iOS 7 features in order to take advantage of the new OS version and anyone not on iOS 7 will need to upgrade to benefit from Hang w/ 2.0.

Hang w/ 2.0 is currently only available on iOS with a new version of Hang w/ 2.0 for Android in development with no release date given by MEDL Mobile as to when it will be released.
