ITProPortal is recruiting: Join the UK's best technology website!

ITProPortal enjoyed another stellar year in 2013 as it continues to deliver its core audience of UK professionals with a rich array of informative, original, and entertaining technology content.

Particular highlights included media partnerships with a number of high-profile events, support for key Net Communities campaigns, and the launch of an exciting new section dedicated to startups.

Now entering its 15th year, ITProPortal is rightly known as one of the oldest and most respected technology websites in the UK. Going into 2014, our dynamic team of editors, publishers and writers look forward to developing the site into the UK's number one B2B technology resource.

Do you know your NFC from your cloud? Crave the latest smartphone? Or just get a buzz from writing and know you can adapt your passion to an exciting new subject? If so, you may well be the new intern we are looking to recruit. Founded in 1999, ITProPortal is one of the UK's oldest and most respected technology websites, and we are looking for a strong new addition to assist and learn from the senior editorial and publishing team for a period of 12 months. This is a full-time, paid internship based out of our London offices.

Reporting to the associate publisher and senior editorial team, you will be a native or fluent English speaker with a demonstrable interest in publishing, journalism or technology. A pedantic appreciation of good grammar and punctuation is a must, as you will be responsible for producing clear, concise, and accurate news stories on a daily basis. You will also be heavily involved in the publishing side of the business and expected to produce, curate, and sub-edit bespoke copy to the extremely high standards demanded by high-profile commercial partners like HP and IBM.

Promoting ITProPortal and Net Communities content across multiple channels, a basic grasp of social media is essential for this role and, if you haven't already, you can expect to learn a fair bit about SEO and analytics. Confidence is another necessity, as you can expect to regularly interact with high-profile people both on the phone and in person.

Ideally, you will also have a keen eye for digital imagery and some experience of content management systems and multimedia. You will be flexible and ambitious – if working early/late shifts or dropping everything to jet off to a conference doesn't appeal to you, this may not be the right job for you. At the same time, you will be happy putting your head down for less glamorous tasks like transcribing interviews and researching features.

Does this sound like you? If so, please email us today (itproportal@net-communities.co.uk) with your CV and a covering letter stating why you believe you are right for this job, along with two to three ideas for news stories that you feel would fit the ITProPortal mould. If you have a portfolio of journalistic work, blog, or any experience writing professionally, please make sure we are aware of it when you submit your application. Links to your Twitter and/or LinkedIn account would also be greatly appreciated.
