Samsung Galaxy S3 owners have been distinctly unimpressed at their handset being left off the KitKat upgrade slate thus far – but that could all be about to change, at least if the latest piece of leakage turns out to be true.
According to a leaked document spotted by Sam Mobile, the international version of the Galaxy S3 will be getting Android 4.4 in April (through May – so hopefully April for UK S3 owners).
The upgrade has certainly taken its time getting here – but such is Android. Also, as a Sam Mobile reader spotted, there is a chance that the photographed document is a fake, as it has the Galaxy Note 2’s model number wrong. Unless a Samsung employee made a mistake here, which isn’t unheard of in the mobile world.
And yes – the Galaxy Note 2 is also on this list as well, with the same upgrade schedule as the Galaxy S3 (next month through May).
Let’s just hope that this one is kosher – the S3 and Note 2 KitKat upgrades have been confirmed for the US, so there should be no reason why they shouldn’t be coming to the UK before long.Leave a comment on this article
