HP has announced new ConvergedSystem purpose-built and configurable systems designed to deploy SAP’s HANA in-memory data crunching platform with a quick and painless installation process.
The solution comprises of ConvergedSystem 500 hardware, along with HP ServiceGuard for SAP HANA – and it should be shipping come the end of next month.
There are other products in the ConvergedSystem line-up which HP already has out there, providing complete systems tailored for virtualisation, the cloud, and big data.
V3 spotted this development, and spoke to HP’s manager for ConvergedSystem, Frances Guida. She said that: “Customers are getting frustrated that they have to spend so much time, energy and money on selecting tools and figuring out how to put them together. In a nutshell, they are spending too much time being a technology integrator and not enough being a business innovator.”
ConvergedSystem 500 comprises of servers, storage, and networking hardware, using HP ProLiant Generation 8 servers and 3Par storage.
Tom Joyce, senior VP and general manager of Converged Systems, HP, commented: "Organisations are making long-term, strategic architectural bets for their data centres and data management platforms. SAP HANA provides a catalyst for business transformation and HP has the architecture, expertise and vision to meet its infrastructure needs. HP is investing in delivering the infrastructure that clients need to meet requirements of environments running SAP HANA."
Prices will start at around £50,000 and £30,000 for the ConvergedSystem 500 and HP ServiceGuard respectively.
