How to watch World Cup opener Brazil v Croatia live on TV and online

The four year long wait is almost over and the biggest sporting tournament on the planet is ready for the off as Brazil gets set to play host to the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

Sao Paolo is the location for the opening game as hosts and favourites Brazil led by the precocious talent Neymar look to get off to a winning start against plucky Croatia.

We’ve already heard that television sets will be left alone in the cupboard this summer as football fans flock online to watch games but what is the best way to view the opening game between Brazil and Croatia online?

The good news for UK residents is that the World Cup is one of those rare events that is protected from pay TV by the government and as such ITV and BBC have rights to all the games and highlights.

ITV has broadcasting rights to the opening fixture between Brazil and Croatia with coverage starting at 1900, a full two hours before the game actually kicks off at 2100.

This means that viewers will not only get to take in the game in the capable hands of presenter Adrian Chiles and studio guests Lee Dixon, Patrick Vieira, and Fabio Cannavaro but will also see Mr Worldwide aka Pitbull and Jennifer Lopez star in the tournament’s opening ceremony.

Viewers can tune in at any time between 1900 and 2315 via either an old-fashioned TV set or by simply pointing a browser tab to the ITV Player.

Getting onto the site around kick off could be difficult so bookmark the page now to avoid disappointment.
