Interesting to see that the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) is approving the use of the DreamStream "military strength" 2048-bit encryption to protect online video streaming content.
According to newswire reports, since being introduced to the system in March, the MPAA has been reviewing the technology and has now decided that it is a viable system for securing content.
DreamStream, meanwhile, reckons that the existing crypto systems used for online content protection are now broken by hackers and the studios must move on up to 2048-bit technology to beat them.
An interesting move. Of course, it won't stop people tapping into the movie theatre systems for copies of films, but that's another story entirely...
