The email, which was leaked to Arstechnica, acknowledges that the service should have been rolled out "slowly" rather than dumped as a "as a monolithic service", in order to give more time to testing process.
In his own words, Steve Jobs confessed that "It was a mistake to launch MobileMe at the same time as iPhone 3G, iPhone 2.0 software and the App Store, We all had more than enough to do, and MobileMe could have been delayed without consequence."
The email Ars Technica saw also claims that the same guy who curently heads iTunes and the App Store will also be the team leader for future developments of the MobileMe team.
On a side note, it gives an interesting insight on the company's innards and if the email is genuine shows that rather than being a distant leader glued to an ivory tower, Jobs is a more humane figure.
