HSUPA, also known as 3.75G, is capable of supporting data transfer at up to 5.76Mbit/sec, which provides download speeds of 7.2Mbps that is similar to the speeds with HSDPA connectivity, but its uploading speeds of 2Mbps, are far better than HSDPA, making it suitable for transferring large amounts of content.
With this addition, the 8.9-incher from Asus is expected to become a preferable choice among netbooks and the fact that it already offers 7.5 hours battery time with its six-cell battery will hold it good stead.
Asus is ready to take on its competitor Inspiron Mini 9 from Dell that supports 3G connectivity and will be available soon in UK with broadband connection from Vodafone; however, the operator for Eee 901 model is yet to be unveiled.
The upgraded device is expected to hit the markets around next month and its pricing details are yet to be announced.
