  • Windows Vista Beta Service Pack 2 To Include Blu-ray Add-on

27 October, 2008, by Desire Athow

Microsoft will be releasing its beta version of Windows Vista Service Pack 2 (SP2) next week which includes support for the Blu-ray technology and other enhancements.

According to a blog post from Mike Nash, corporate VP for Windows product management, “The final release date for Windows Vista SP2 will be based on quality. So we’ll track customer and partner feedback from the beta program before setting a final date for the release.”

The new service pack would include earlier released fixes to focus on reliability, compatibility, and performance issues, Nash added.

The new Vista SP2 is largely based on “single serviceability model”, which means that the new update would integrate both Windows Server 2008 and Windows Vista client in one application.

In addition to Blu-ray support, the new release would include, Windows Connect Now for setting Wi-Fi configurations, Windows Search 4.0 application, and the Bluetooth 2.1 Feature Pack.
