During an S60 webcast held yesterday, Nokia presented an all in one touchscreen concept smartphone that encompasses what essentially the Tube should have been in the first place, a serious business phone that comes with a serious proposition.

The device resurrects the familiar pencil box format - the hallmark of the Communicator family - and looks to have added a virtual keyboard to the Xpress 5800, which reminded us in the office of a recent XO/OLPC concept laptop that had a touchscreen that doubled as an input device (see below).

In effect, this adds a business twist to the Xpressmusic 5800, turning it into a Business phone.

Pictures of the concept device, which appeared on Cellpassion, show that the phone can be used both with fingers and with a stylus and could possibly sport a 640x320 pixels screen.

Rumours of a possible successor to the E90 communicator were first heard back in July when Chinese site IT168.com wrote about a device with a similar format but with a 5-megapixel autofocus digital camera and 8GB internal storage.

And why not read our pre-announcement "5 reasons why Nokia's Tube Xpress 5800 Smartphone Won't Make Android Or Apple's iPhone Shiver" article?
