As per its announcements in November, Microsoft has kicked-off a series of changes in its Windows Live suite of software and services, with the addition of a bunch of social networking features.
Keeping up its November declaration, Microsoft has added a cluster of social networking features - like e-mailing, instant messaging, image-storage and sharing, online collaboration, and calendaring - to its Windows Live service.
The new Windows Live homepage has received a refreshing new look, laying special emphasis on profile, group, and photo-pages.
The Windows Live Home, perhaps the most alluring component of the suite, offers remarkable appeal to Live users, by providing a number of useful social networking attributes, like sharing images and updates and creating a network of contacts.
In addition to the tempting homepage, the service is further augmented with “People Page”, which simplifies instant messaging for users, and a fully-loaded “Profile Page”, which allows users to add information, like interests, job info, relationship status, etc.
The new range of services would further redefine collaboration through its “Windows Live Groups” page, which will substitute MSN Groups, and will enable users to share content, like images, and offer chat features.
Moreover, the SkyDrive online storage service has also been upgraded with new modifications, with free online storage capacity increased to 25GB from 5GB, and offers superior photo slideshows on the internet.
