Fujitsu's Tablet-Cum-Laptop, the Lifebook U2010, Appears In Vietnam

Kudos to Vietnamese forum Tinhe Te for bringing up photos and specs of the soon to be announced Fujitsu Siemens Lifebook U2010, which makes the Asus EEE and all the other Ultracheap Ultraportable laptops look morbidly obese.

It also reminds some of the older bods at ITProportal.com Dungeons of the legendary Toshiba Libretto Range.

The 5.6-inch nano-laptop (ed : is that a new term?) comes with a 5.6inch touchscreen with a resolution of 1024x768 pixels; the touch sensitive display is a good indication of the dual character of the laptop; it can be converted to a micro tablet in seconds.

It is powered by an Atom processor (so performance shouldn't be that bad) and comes with 1GB worth of memory and a 80GB hard disk.

Connectivity is quite good as well with WiFi, Bluetooth, HSDPA and a GPS module; sadly there is no touchpad but you still get a full sized QWERTY keyboard plus there's even a fingerprint scanner tucked on the right hand side of the screen frame.

For some reason, it runs Windows Vista Business which should severely hamper the laptop's general performance (ed: Why not use Windows XP for Tablet PC?).

The laptop which is aimed squarely at deep pockets will cost around USD 1300 significantly higher than the likes of the Asus's EEE PC or the MSI Wind but roughly what you would expect for a laptop of this format.
