Orange Latest To Offer Free Asus EEE Laptop With Broadband

18 August, 2008, by Desire Athow
Orange is the first major Mobile phone service provider to flog Asus's minuscule EEE laptop with its mobile broadband offer; until now, the market was cornered by the likes of Currys and Carphone Warehouse although Three already has more traditional laptops on offer.

Orange's Internet Everywhere Offer offers the Asus laptop - the PC900 16G version - with a dongle and mobile broadband for only £25 per month; for the price, you can get 3GB worth of data and 100 texts for free but you will have to sign for a two-year contract.

The device itself is a 900MHz model with 1GB memory and 16GB SSD device plus a two year warranty and the modem connection stalls at 1.8mbps.

Speaking about the launch, Francois Mahieu, Director of Devices, Orange UK said: ‘It is Orange's aim to be at the forefront of serving today's 21st century customers, so we’re pleased to bring to market our first connected laptop offer with Asus.’

A quick peek at Carphonewarehouse's website showed that only the Elonex Web Book was on offer with Orange's mobile broadband meaning that Orange's Asus EEE is only available direct for now.
