Acer-Owned Packard Bell Introduces Dot Netbook

Packard Bell has also joined the league of netbook manufacturers with its all new “dot” netbook that features Windows XP operating systems.

Bearing close resemblance to Acer's Aspire One (ed: Packard Bell is owned by Acer), the netbook runs on an Intel Atom processor and includes an 8.9-inch screen with 1024 x 600 resolutions display.

The new netbook from Packard Bell boast of a capacious 160GB hard drive with 1GB RAM and also comes with a 6-cell battery option.

The other feature of the device include, an in-bult webcam, integrated Wi-Fi support, 5-in-1 card reader; in addition, the device also lets its users enjoy speedy remote web surfing with its optional 3G module.

Upholding the late entry to netbook segment, sales and marketing VP for Packard Bell Emmanuel Fromont said, “We told our designers and engineers to rethink the netbook, to look at it through the eyes of a family, not a company. The result is dot.” 

The device is expected to be released in Europe in November and said to have a price tag worth 399 euros.
