  • Google Chrome OS Available From Next Week

15 November, 2009, by Desire Athow

Google’s highly anticipated Chrome operating system may just become available for download from the coming week according to a story carried by TechCrunch.

The advent of Google Chrome OS is expected to shake up the operating system market specifically when it comes to netbooks where many manufacturers are looking to take advantage of the search giant’s open source operating system.

Some of the manufacturers with whom Google has reportedly entered into talks include the likes of ASUS, Hewlett-Packard, Acer and Lenovo to name a few.

The fact that the operating system will be available free of cost also makes it a good choice for people who are looking to build inexpensive machines.

With Google aggressively pushing its cloud based solutions, some enterprises may too look at using its bouquet of services and the Chrome OS will become an important part of their IT planning.

Some experts believe that initially people who start using Chrome OS may find it difficult to find drivers for some of the peripheral devices but in coming days a range of device drivers are expected to be available from the search giant itself or device manufacturers are likely to author drivers to suit the Chrome OS.
