Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 To Launch On AT&T Only

AT&T has apparently managed to get yet another exclusive after Apple's iPhone as Sony Ericsson's Xperia X10 spec sheet shows that the smartphone will only support AT&T's network.

Phandroid, a website that specialises in Android devices, says that the phone is compatible with GSM/GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900 and UMTS/HSPA 800/850/900/1700/1900/2100 but specifically excludes UMTS HSPA 900/1700 for the Americas.

Neither Sony Ericsson nor AT&T have commented on the speculations but it will be interesting to see how AT&T positions the X10 compared to the iPhone. Furthermore, there are also rumours that the AT&T-bound X10 will not even come with Google Navigation tools.

Indeed, the official website mentions the Wisepilot turn-by-turn satellite navigation tool but not Google Navigator. It is not surprising though given the fact that the X10 will not ship with Android v2.0 AKA Eclair.

The phone, which will be available from February next year in selected territories, will be one of the best-specced Android phones available of the market.

It comes with a staggering 4-inch touchscreen LCD display, a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and many other high end features.

Formerly known as Rachael, one can only hope that this super smartphone marks the resurgence and renaissance of one of the two mobile phone giants (the other being Motorola) that have started to fade away in the past few years.
