05 November, 2009, by Desire Athow

In a move that could comprehend the practical usability of Google’s new Wave, Novell has announced the first real-time communication collaboration tool for enterprises.

Dubbed as “Novell Pulse”, the new tool is embedded in Google’s Wave collaboration suite and enables colleagues to effectively collaborate on a range of documents.

The tool also enables employees to create their own profiles to publish details about their sphere of expertise, and share updates and status, along with several other notifications of their recent actions with co-workers.

“With Novell Pulse, people continents apart can work together in real-time, sharing and co-browsing information or creating or editing a document”, Novell cited on its website.

The tool was demoed on Wednesday 4th November at the Enterprise 2.0 symposium in San Francisco, and the tool is expected to launch in beta phase in as early as the first half of next year.

The tool would initially be available in an internet-hosted Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) model in the first half of 2010, and would later be launched as on-premise software.
