  • O2 Belatedly Launches Free Laptop Bundle

10 February, 2009, by Desire Athow

Never too late to join the party. O2 has become the last UK mobile phone network to offer free laptops with their mobile broadband packages starting from £30.

The entry level contract will cost £29.38 per per month and provide with 3GB worth of download with unlimited WiFi Access; an additional tenner brings the limit to 10GB. You can also add traditional ADSL broadband for £5 which comes with unlimited downloads, 100 free texts, a wireless router and free security package.

The Telefonica-owned company has partnered with Samsung to provide with a netbook and a traditional laptop. The NC10 is a 10.2-inch netbook that should in theory come with 1GB memory, 160GB hard disk drive and normally carry a retail price of £300. For an extra £79.29, punters will be able to get the heavier R510 with more memory and hard disk drive. We expect to find a Dual Core CPU with a 15.4-inch screen as well.

Unfortunately, O2 has yet to update its website to reflect its new offer (they should be available from the 27th of February). The standalone 3GB package from O2 costs £14.69 per month for 24 months. Which means that users will be paying approximately £360 for the NC10 netbook.
