    Unsurprisingly, Google has again emerged as the topmost destination for web searchers in US in the month of April, with the search engine giant managing to gain some market share during the period, according to the figures released by comScore.

    As per figures released by the web metric firm, Google was the only major search engine that had managed to boost its market share, with the website accounting for as much as 64.2 percent of overall searches conducted, up by 0.5 percent from the month of March.

    With 20.4 percent share in search market, Yahoo grabbed the second spot, followed by Microsoft that accounted for 8.2 percent share only. Moreover, both Yahoo and Microsoft saw 0.1 percent drop in their search market share last month.

    In addition, Ask.com stayed flat at 3.8 percent market share, followed by AOL, which registered 0.3 percent decline to 3.4 percent of overall searches conducted in the month of April.

    Furthermore, overall core search queries were increased notably by 3 percent to 14.8 billion in April, out of which Google accounted for a massive 9.5 billion searches, followed by Yahoo with around 3 billion, and Microsoft with 1.2 billion searches.
