Asus France To Discontinue Eee PC 100HE Model
Asus France has confirmed that it will phase out its popular Eee PC 1000HE, which offers an incredible nine-hour runtime to users, after the launch of a new yet-to-be declared model.
The news was confirmed by a French website Blogeee.net. “The EeePC 1000HE, current flagship of the range, like many other models, will not be continued after the launch of new machines”, the website quoted in one of its posts.
Besides, discussing company’s plans for UK, John Swatton, Asus’s netbook marketing chief, notified that the 100H and 100HE are the most popular Eee PC models in the country, and therefore the company has no intentions to discontinue these well established products at all.
Along the same line, Swatton quoted in a statement, “At present, the 1000H and 1000HE offer the best combination of functionality and performance for the price”.
In addition, Swatton also asserted that the company hasn’t discontinued the 7-inch 701, or 9-inch 900A, 901, as well as 904, either, and mentioned that all these Eee PC models are still there on the company’s focus models list.
However, he said that the company’s roadmap is expected to change to help customers to decide upon the best suited Eee PC models for them.
