Apple Refreshes 13-inch Macbook Pro Range
Next on the list of hardware updates from Apple is a new 13-inch Macbook Pro which will be available for as little as $1199.
Like its bigger brothers, it comes with a LED-backlit screen, a multi touch trackpad, a back-lit keyboard, a Firewire port, a SD card reader (but no ExpressCard) and the unibody chassis that has given its particularity to Apple's laptop range.
The 13-inch Macbook Pro also comes with the lithium polymer battery present on the other laptops as well which promises 7-hours worth of charge and a 1000-recharges battery life.
Unfortunately, the battery is not removable but Apple says that over the lifetime of the laptop, users will consume one battery where other laptops will get through three of them. No wonder then that Apple surpasses the Energy Star 5.0 requirements and has snatched the EPEAT gold status.
The cheaper version will cost only $1199 and will come with an Intel Core 2 Duo processor running at 2.26GHz, 2GB RAM and a 160GB hard disk drive. For an extra $300, you will get a 2.53GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4GB RAM and a 250GB hard disk drive.
