Following a high-profile launch on Saturday, Palm Pre has already received its first WebOS firmware update on its launch day, promising better stability along with some native apps, including an alarm clock.
The new software update codenamed as, WebOS Version 1.0.2, has been launched by the company over the last weekend to address some intermittent problems in the handset as reported by a few customers.
Although the handset received a great response in the US market, some users have reportedly encountered various stability issues, such as WebOS crashes as well as intermittent data loss necessitating a complete restore.
However, Palm responded to the issues promptly with its software update, which is said to offer better stability to the handset, in addition to adding some cool apps to it.
The 67MB software update can be accessed over the air to Sprint users in the US. In a related story, Palm Pre's network carrier Sprint has announced that the handset received a record-breaking response in the US market for the company.
According to the data released by an analyst firm RBC Capital, the handset sales have already breached the 50,000 mark during the opening weekend and some 10,000 to 15,000 are already there in the waiting.
