Mobile phone operator Vodafone has confirmed that it will be offering the HTC Tattoo which is an entry level smartphone based on Google's increasingly popular Android platform in October.
The phone, which comes with HTC's Sense User Interface, has a 2.8-inch touch screen (a resistive model that shows 240x320 pixels; Vodafone mentions a 3.2-megapixel display), a 3.2-megapixel camera with autofocus but no flash plus all the goodies that come with Google's Android services.
Interestingly, the Tattoo features a five button menu including an intriguing four way circular navigation solution; it is powered by a 528 MHz Qualcomm MSM7225 chipset, the same which comes with other HTC Android-based smartphones.
Amongst the other features include 512MB internal memory expandable to 32GB via a microSD slot, a FM radio, WiFi, A-GPS, a digital compass, 3G connectivity and optional personalised covers.
Vodafone has yet to confirm the price of the smartphone on pay as you go although we found out that it would be priced at £320 and available for £25 on 18-month contracts.
