Samsung Electronics has announced that it has taken a bold initiative of mass production of screen panels for 3D LED TVs and 3D LCD TVs, despite analysts’ claims that the technology was exceedingly costly for most of the users.
Being the leader in the flat screen panels production, this move would certainly help Samsung to lower down per unit cost of the 3D technology powered TV sets, and thereby capitalise on the growing interest of the industry for the same.
Along the same line, the company said in a statement: “Recently, 3D displays have captured the industry spotlight. Samsung Electronics aims to lead the global 3D TV panel market in pioneering mass production for 3D LED and LCD TVs”.
It has kicked off the mass production of 3D-supported LCD and LED TV screens of 40-inch, 46-inch, and 55-inch full high definition (HD) 3D TV sets, the company noted. The 3D TVs from Samsung will incorporate 3D Active glasses, and must pave the way for both 2D and 3D HD content.
Additionally, the company further touted that it had significantly diminished the response times related to its screens to less than four milliseconds, which would offer content with “exceptional clarity”.
