Adobe Condemns Apple For iPad’s Flash Omission
Users seeking a complete web experience on the recently heralded iPad device may miss out on something very important - absence of Adobe’s Flash technology on the device.
However, Adobe too isn’t apparently very much excited about this, and has therefore slammed Apple’s approach that involved lack of Flash on the device.
Adrian Ludwig, group manager for Adobe, evinced his dissatisfaction over Apple’s move, and along the same line quoted in a blog post that “there's something important missing from Apple's approach to connecting consumers to content” when it’s about the functionality of iPad.
“It looks like Apple is continuing to impose restrictions on their devices that limit both content publishers and consumers”, he added.
He further went on to say that without Flash compatibility, iPad users wouldn’t be able to enjoy full array of web content, which include a whopping 75 percent of videos as well as 70 percent of games available on the web.
Citing it as a significant omission, Ludwig claimed that it would prevent iPad users from connecting to Hulu, Disney, Farmville, Kongregate, ESPN, and several other websites based on Adobe’s Flash.
Ludwig noted about the company’s signature Open Screen Project, which aims at allowing the consumers to enjoy their favourite interactive media, content, as well as applications across various platforms, irrespective of the devices people opt to use.
