Citrix Systems, which specialises in virtualisation software, has announced that the company is developing a new application which will allow enterprise users of Apple’s iPad to run Microsoft’s Windows 7 operating software on the device.
The company made the announcement on a blog posted on Citrix’s community website, which said that companies will be able to offer their employees the chance to run Windows 7 on the iPad with help of XenDesktop or XenApp software provided that each tablet has a copy of Receiver application which available for free download on the Apple app store.
According to the blogpost, the Windows 7 virtualisation on the iPad will be able to run multiple Windows applications simultaneously. This will allow the employees of enterprises to use the iPad for performing productive tasks on the device with ease and mobility.
Citrix mentioned on the blog that: "It turns out the 9.7 inch display on the iPad with a 1024x768 screen resolution works great for a full VDI XenDesktop. The advancements that were made for the Citrix Receiver for iPhone will carry over to the iPad."
The Florida based software firm is all praises about the iPad and believes that it is ideal platform to run the Windows 7 operating system.
