Microsoft May Buy AOL

Days after announcing that it was looking for a partner for its search engine, reports are surfacing that AOL may be sold to Micorsoft.

The Business Insider reports that sources close to the CEO have claimed that Armstrong is also negotiating a deal with Google.

The search deal between the internet giant and AOL is coming to an end and Google is looking to renew the deal.

If Microsoft can acquire AOL, the software giant will be able to increase its search engine market, broaden its email service user base and expand its online content offerings.

Experts claim that Microsoft will wait for AOL to come up with reasonable end-quarter results before buying.

A merger between AOL and Microsoft could be beneficial to the two companies - both have overlapping sales and engineering teams and a merger could see the cutting of numerous overlapping costs without affecting production.
