I was amazed to read over the weekend that customers of the Commonwealth Bank of Australia are being told not to talk to the police after beeing ripped off by fraudsters.
According to Aussie newswire reports, although the bank is refunding the dosh, customers are being made to feel guilty about the fraud and told that the bank will deal with the police.
One person from Melbourne claims to have recently lost A$17,500, whilst another lost A$12,000 from their e-banking accounts.
The spin doctors at the bank, of course, deny such things can happen - and claim that punters, sorry, customers, are always encouraged to liaise with the police.
Like uh, yeah, I really believe what the bank's PR spindoctors say...
