Mobile video codec gets upgrade

Actimagine's patented video codec Mobiclip, has been selected once again by Nokia and Sony Pictures for a "Grande Première" in South Africa: the release of the first movie on a mobile phone compatible memory card in DVD-like quality - 24fps full screen - without compromising battery-life.

"The Da Vinci Code" will be featured on a miniSD movie card and given exclusively for a limited period of time to Nokia Nseries customers in South Africa when they purchase or upgrade to a Nokia N80 multimedia computer*.

This follows Actimagine's announcement a week ago its partnership with Hungama Mobile, the largest aggregator, distributor, developer and publisher of Indian entertainment and Bollywood on the digital and mobile platforms, to allow mobile phone users around the world to view Bollywood films on their mobile devices in the Mobiclip quality standard.

With this new announcement, Mobiclip, the only codec optimised mobile platform, is becoming the de facto standard of video on mobile phones.
