A few facts on Remote Working..

Remote working is a booming lifestyle choice for millions of people in the UK - and it makes sense for increasing business productivity, boosting employee motivation, as well as the added bonus of helping to save the planet.

The UK Office for National Statistics puts the numbers of teleworkers at over 2.4 million in 2005 (8% of all workers) up from 921,000 (4% of workers) in 1997. The majority, and the strongest growth area, is among people who work in a number of different places using home as a base.

Remote working is greener and saves energy too: the average UK commuter travels 2,906 miles a year, and spends 8 hours a week – 47 working days a year - on commuting and business journeys (Source: Statistic from National Travel Survey 2005). Also a survey by NOP on behalf of the Business Software Alliance found that 74% of bosses believe that allowing remote working improves staff motivation.
