Internet telephony security is flawed says Canadian firm

A report from VOIPShield Systems, a Canadian IT security firm, claims to have identified mote than 100 security flaws on IP telephony phones and systems from the likes of Avaya, Cisco and Nortel Networks.

VOIPShield Systems' study claims that the security flaws its researchers have uncovered can also give hackers the ability to intercept and record telephone conversations at will.

In a major company, it's a relatively easy task to route VOIP traffic across a separate network to the usual company data. Smaller companies are not so lucky. You can read more on the research here...
