The banks do a good job (allegedly) in keeping card skimming incidents out of the press, so I was intrigued to read that a Nationwide ATM in Haverford West was hit recently.
The Nationwide Building Society has confirmed to the Western Telegraph newspaper that their cash machine next to Savers on Riverside had been fitted with a skimming device last month.
As you might imagine, the BS says that "only a small number have been affected" by the scam.
Online forum reports, however, say that the small number may number in to the hundreds. One local raised the alarm after her accoount was ripped off to the tune of 400 quidlets.
