Vodafone remove some of the fear of data pricing

The announcement today by Vodafone of a quadrupling of the data allowance from 120MB to 500MB and eliminating the £7.50 fee is a great saving.

If you use mobile data like I do for push email, Skype via Fring and web sites through Opera Mini, the 120MB allowance handled it all, but not if I used the mobile as a 3G modem.

This move will ensure that Vodafone retains customers who are into Twitter, video snacking using emTube, a Youtube client, or Qik video sharing.

The 3G iPhone is a threat that this new package may help forestall.
