BBC is set to launch an absolutely new iPlayer that integrates its radio and video services on a single interface.
This new iPlayer will have a broader screen intended to provide a better cinematic experience to its viewers.
It will also be adding around 250 new television programs a week that will enable the audience to access BBC’s entire content for free.
According to the reports, iPlayer will be available on several other platforms such as the Nintendo Wii and the iPhone.
BBC iPlayer has become a popular service for TV viewers as it enables them to watch programmes they have missed.
BBC's head of future media, Erik Huggers, said that the main goal of the group was to reinvent the way modern consumers access technology and media.
